The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is preparing to take strict action against members who are no longer loyal to the party’s core values and rules. This decision is expected to be a key focus when the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meets on May 27, 2025. Nelson Adepoyigi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman of Ward 5 in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State has been killed by his abductors. Adepoyigi, kidnapped earlier in the week while parking his car outside his Ifon residence at about 10pm on Monday, has been held hostage since then. Local hunters arrested two members of a kidnap syndicate on Friday in the ancient town of Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. In a sheer display of unprofessionalism, men of the Nigeria Police Force have reportedly gunned down a 400-level student of Kwararafa University, Benue State, The university undergraduate, simply identified as Ella, was shot by policemen while carrying out a stop-and-search operation around Wurukum Roundabout in Makurdi, Benue State. Mali’s military government on Tuesday announced the end of all political parties in the country. The declaration was made on State television, confirming that interim leader Assimi Goita approved the action. The Southwest Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, has successfully secured the freedom of five kidnap victims without the payment of a dime as ransom.
