The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside the State Executive Council, has approved the recruitment of an additional 1,400 officers into the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC/KAI).
According to the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the expansion aims to strengthen enforcement operations and boost the state’s capacity to maintain cleaner, healthier, and well-regulated public spaces.
The newly recruited officers will help intensify compliance monitoring on environmental laws, curb indiscriminate waste disposal, discourage street trading in restricted zones, and enhance waste management practices across all parts of Lagos.
The initiative further reinforces the State Government’s commitment to a cleaner, safer, and environmentally sustainable Lagos in line with the #CleanerLagos and #GreaterLagos vision.
