The Ekimogun Roundtable Forum has commended former House of Representatives aspirant in Osun State, Engr. David Ayodele Asalu, for his patriotic insights regarding Constituency Project Funds allocated to National Assembly members under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
In a viral video, Engr. Asalu disclosed that each member of the National Assembly is now entitled to at least one billion Naira in constituency project funding following the removal of the fuel subsidy by the Tinubu administration.

“Quote me anywhere: since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu wisely removed the subsidy, both Governors and National Assembly members have received increased allocations. No Honourable Member gets less than one billion Naira for constituency projects,” he stated.
The Roundtable applauded this courageous revelation, aligning it with its ongoing advocacy for transparency and accountability in governance, particularly in monitoring constituency projects.
According to the Forum, Engr. Asalu’s comments were not made out of animosity but as a genuine appeal for the responsible use of public funds intended for constituency development.
To support Engr. Asalu’s claims, the Ekimogun Roundtable noted that the Ondo East/West Federal Constituency has received billions in constituency allocations since 2019, much of which remains largely unaccounted for. The group stressed the importance of constituents asking questions of their representatives rather than merely expressing gratitude when minimal gestures are made.
The Forum deemed it irresponsible for a public official to impose legal challenges on constituents over simple inquiries regarding legislative performance and accountability, as is currently happening between Hon. Abiola Makinde and the group concerning constituency funds and allocations.
The Ekimogun Roundtable reaffirmed its commitment to educating citizens, particularly those in Ondo East-West Federal Constituency, and promoting accountability among elected representatives.
