The Ondo State Police Command has arrested some suspects and their collaborators in connection with recent kidnappings in the state. According to the Commissioner of Police in Ondo state, Wilfred Afolabi, the feat was an outcome of efforts to rid the state of kidnappers. The abductors of an Ondo businessman who was kidnapped alongside his wife and daughter have demanded a sum of ₦30 million to secure his release. The victims who were abducted in front of their residence along Ipele Road, Owo, in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State have since then been in the kidnappers’ den. Nigeria’s former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has taken a swipe at labour leaders for prioritising their personal interests over the collective interest and welfare of workers. The Federal Government has given fresh directives to civil servants on the modalities of effecting salary migration, change of name and next-of-kin. These new directives were contained in a memo from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation dated March 12, 2025 and addressed to all Federal Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
