On Friday, 30th May 2025, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Lagos State Command, ceded the arrested Enugu herbalist, Obi Levi Obieze, to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation of the notorious crime committed.
This information was gathered from a statement released via X (formerly Twitter) by the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.

“ONGOING: @nigimmigration, Lagos State Command hands over wanted suspect, Obi Levi Obieze, to @LagosPoliceNG at the Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja,” the statement reads.
Recalled Obieze, also known as Levi Obu Onyeka, a native doctor from Umuajor village in Enough, was arrested on Thursday, 29th May, 2025, by operatives of the Nigeria Immigration Service at the Gbaji checkpoint along Badagry-Seme Road while he was attempting to flee the country on a motorcycle. It was also reported that he was part of a group of three men who abducted a victim on Tuesday, 27th May, 2025, while she was walking with her father to the farm.
According to the NIS, Obieze’s identity was confirmed through a National Identity Management Commission enrollment slip found in his possession. He also reportedly confessed to the crimes during initial questioning.
Therefore, his arrest followed credible intelligence linking him to the abduction, kidnapping, and alleged ritual killing of a 13-year-old girl in Isiagu Community, Enugu State.
His arrest was confirmed by the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, in a statement issued by the Service Public Relations Officer, ACI AS Akinlabi, on Thursday, 29th May 2025.
“The suspect is a male individual wanted by the Nigeria Police Enugu State Command for alleged involvement in abduction, kidnapping, and ritual killing,” the statement read.
