The controversial Afenifere Youth Leader, Eniola Ojajuni, has again been slammed by the Afenifere National Youth Organisation over his viral claim to be President of the league.
This development is coming amidst his recent face off with the Akure Police Command over facts having to do with his kidnap on his way to Abuja, eventual release.
While the Nigerian Police has indirectly dismissed the narrative of his kidnap as fake in the light of its inconsistency with known modes of operation of similar kidnapping syndicates, Ojajuni has come to the public to counter the narrative being weaved by the Nigeria Police, insisting that he was kidnapped, released at Ibillo after an amount of crowdfunded funds was delivered to the kidnappers.
The Afenifere Youth group, in a press statement by its leadership, Comrade Eric Oluwole on May 27, 2025, said:
“The Afenifere Youth National Body has dissociated itself from one Eniola Ojajuni, who styles himself as the body’s leader.”
“Besides, the body distanced itself from the claims by Ojajuni that he knew about 37 kidnapping locations in the Southwest and that four traditional rulers in Ondo State are backing the criminals.”
It further stated:
“In a statement on Tuesday by the Afenifere National Youth Leader, who also doubles as the spokesman of the mainstream Afenifere in Ondo State, Comrade Eric Oluwole, the body called on the Police to arrest Ojajuni for alleged impersonation and spreading fabricated falsehood about the security situation in Yorubaland.”
According to the statement, “We, the Afenifere Youth National Body under the leadership of Comrade Eric Oluwole, who also doubles as the spokesman of the mainstream Afenifere in Ondo State, hereby call on the Police to arrest one Mr. Eniola Ojajuni, who is parading himself as the self-acclaimed Afenifere National Youth Leader to, as an impersonator, make unsubstantiated and fabricated claims on the sensitive security situation in the Southwest.
“We unequivocally say that the only authentic Leader of Afenifere Youths body which familiarises with the mainstream Afenifere National Leadership led by Pa Reuben Fasoranti and Chief Korede Duyile, and other other Yoruba leaders nationwide, is Comrade Eric Oluwole.
“The said Eniola Ojajuni should therefore stop parading himself as the self-acclaimed Afenifere Youth Leader to fabricate falsehood to tarnish the hard-earned name and integrity of the mainstream Afenifere with that of the Afenifere National Youth Organisation, and stain the names and reputation of our highly respected Royal Fathers in Ondo State.
“Ojajuni should be arrested, interrogated and prosecuted as an impostor and an accomplice of criminals for saying that he knows about 37 kidnap locations across the Southwest during his self staged kidnapping
“The question is this, is it possible for the kidnappers he mentioned during his self-arranged kidnapping to be telling him where and where the locations of their operation in the Southwest are?
“Not only that, he is now telling the whole world again, peddling an unsubstantiated and fabricated falsehood that about four monarchs are working hands in gloves with kidnappers in Ondo State, just to gain prominence for whatever reasons best known to him.
“We hereby call on the Police to arrest, interrogate and prosecute him over his reckless and unsubstantiated claims.
Once again, we declare that the said Eniola Ojajuni is not known to the mainstream Afenifere, nor is he known to the Afenifere Youth Organisation. He is not the Leader.”
