As a followup to Citizen Rapporteur’s story, titled, “Idanre Hills: A Story of Abandonment and Economic Exploitation by the Ondo State Government,” the Chairman, Idanre Local Government Area, Hon. Barrister Smart Adeuyi Omotadowa, in a telephone call to our correspondent has disclosed the resolve of the council to take over the running of the Idanre Hills Resort should the State government via its Ministry of Culture and Tourism refuse to revitalize the place from its current dismal state.
Omotadowa, who promised to visit the Resort on Tuesday alongside his team, expressed disappointment at the running of the place over the years.

In his words: “I will be there with my team on Tuesday to take records of its current state. We will follow up our visit with a letter to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to confirm if they are still willing to keep running the place.”
“We are willing to take over and track interested investors who can harness the touristic value of the place should they be tired of running the place.”
“It is our intention to get the place running again before the coming Orosun Festival.”
This reply is coming in less than 24 hours after Citizen Rapporteur’s exclusive report on the condition of the resort made it to the public.
