
It was a joyous moment for the outgoing Vice Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) Ondo, Professor Adesegun Fatusi, as accolades continue to pour in for him over the successful completion of his tenure as the helmsman of the medical institution.
Chief among his eulogisers are the Osemawe Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo and an ex-Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, who showered praises on the outgoing vice chancellor, describing him as “a quintessential gentleman, one given to diligence and high-level commitment to tasks.”

This took place at a valedictory service held in recognition of Fatusi’s meritorious service on Saturday, an event organised by the Osemawe-in-Council.

Mimiko, under whose administration the university was established, praised Fatusi’s examplary leadership, describing him as an energetic administrator and a man of impeccable integrity.
On his part, Fatusi gave thanks to God for being with him and his family all through his tenure as Vice Chancellor. He also appreciated the Osemawe, the Osemawe-In-Council, and the people of Ondo Kingdom for the overwhelming support he enjoyed.
He thereafter commended the Ondo people for their unrivalled support for education and cited the establishment of the Ondo Boys High School in 1919 as a compelling testimony of the people’s love for education.
He further craved the people’s continued support for the university.
At the event were some members of the Osemawe-in-Council, notably the Lisa, High Chief Oguntimehin, the Sasere, High Chief Adeduro and the Adaja of the Ondo Kingdom.
Some notable members of the academic community that attended the occasion were the Acting Vice Chancellor of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo, the Vice Chancellor of Wesley University, Ondo, and the Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology.
Also present was Mama Fatusi, the biological mother of the outgoing Vice Chancellor.
