Nollywood actress and businesswoman, Elizabeth Anjorin, popularly known as Lizzy Anjorin, has said the N1bn defamation suit filed against her by fellow actress, Iyabo Ojo, has been dismissed.

She made the claim in a video post on her Instagram page on Thursday, where she celebrated what she described as a win and mocked online gossip blogs she accused of stalking her and her daughter.

In the video caption, she wrote, “Breaking news!!! Iyabo Ojo 1 billion naira law suit against Lizzy Anjorin is dismissed. Court ordered Iyabo Ojo to pay Lizzy Anjorin certain amount.”

While Lizzy did not reveal the exact figure, she went on to thank unnamed persons who, according to her, have consistently monitored her movements to feed social media gossip pages.

“Thanks to the letter poster that always waits for hours by roadside two buildings away from my house waiting for the baby to come back from school so that they can video her face along the court letter and send it to amebo Gistlover and Esabod and all other blackmailers to post even before court could receive it,” she wrote.

In the same post, she dragged popular blog Gistlover and accused it of having done similar things to the late singer Mohbad.

“Gistlover how market??? Is this how u stalked late Mohbad till his last moment??? Allegedly ni o. Am just asking because I never see where Naira (Marley) has done this to anybody,” she added.

But responding on Friday, Iyabo Ojo denied that any formal judgment had been passed on the case. She clarified that the session Lizzy referred to was merely an ADR hearing, not a full legal trial.

Speaking in a video posted to her verified Instagram account, Ojo said, “Your lawyers need to educate you. This is what I have been waiting for her to do all this while (mentioning my name). And now, she has finally done it.”

She explained that the judge handling the ADR process had advised both parties to settle peacefully.

“What we went for was ADR, which means Alternative Dispute Resolution. We have not started any proper case. The ADR judge threw the case out… That was just ADR. I have not called any witness. Nobody has entered the witness box. Not me, not Liz. No witness has been called. So we have not started any case at all.”
Ojo added that Lizzy’s repeated online attacks and accusations pushed her to take legal action in the first place, insisting that she had endured several attempts to tarnish her image.
“You keep attacking people who are close to me. You drag anyone you see with me. And the only reason I filed a case against you is because of all the false things you say about me… There is nothing you have not accused me of.”

Ojo went further to raise concerns about her family’s safety and held Lizzy accountable for any harm that might befall her or her children.

“I should be the one to say that if anything happens to me, Iyabo Ojo, or to my daughter, Priscilla Ajoke, or to Festus Olajuwon Ojo, then you, Lizzy Anjorin, should be among the people held responsible.”

The legal drama between the two Nollywood stars started in late 2023, when Ojo filed a ₦1bn defamation suit against Lizzy, demanding an apology and a retraction of allegedly false claims made on social media.

The dispute has continued to attract attention online, with fans and followers of both actresses closely watching every move.
