The President, Makanre International Brothers (MIB), Dr. Ebenezer Akinsunlola JP, has challenged the Senator Representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire over what he termed the “total neglect of Idanre Community” in the comity of communities under the Ondo Central Senatorial District.
The US-based clergy and notable stakeholder in the community, in a strong-worded statement addressed directly to the Senator, and titled, “The Total Neglect of Idanre by the Ondo State Central Senator is Deeply Worrisome,” said:

“The people of Idanre are tired of being treated as second-class citizens within Ondo State Central Senatorial District. From broken roads to underfunded schools, inadequate healthcare facilities, lack of support for farmers and traders, and complete absence of federal presence. Our community has been left behind in every critical area of development.”
In a bid to further spotlight the plight of the Idanre people, Akinsunlola criticised the current Senator representing the Senatorial District for paying lip service to the plights of the Idanre people by shooting them out of the benefits ordinarily expected in the Local Government Area, in the light of the visible developments in other Senatorial Districts.
In his words:
“It is especially disheartening that our current senator, who was elected to represent all constituencies under Ondo Central, has shown little to no effort in addressing the plight of Idanre. While other parts of the district are witnessing pockets of federal projects or attention, Idanre continues to suffer from systemic neglect, with no visible federal constituency projects, no youth empowerment programs, and no serious engagement with community leaders.
He demanded to know about some things, among which are the constituency projects due the community, the representation in Abuja that serves as replica of the community needs as well as accountability to the electorates.
He said: “Where are the constituency projects due to Idanre? Where is the representation in Abuja that reflects our needs? Where is the basic accountability that democracy promises?
He however made express demand for the Senator’s attention on bringing democratic dividends to the community.
“We demand immediate and measurable attention from the senator. Idanre deserves:
“Good roads that connect us to the rest of the state, functional schools and educational support for our youth.”
“Healthcare centers equipped to serve our people, job creation initiatives and vocational support, direct engagement with the community, not just during elections.
He made a pointed clarification on the reason for his statement, saying, “this message is not political; it is about justice, equity, and the right to development. The continued abandonment of Idanre is unacceptable, and we will not remain silent while our future is ignored.”
