Former Governor Ayo Fayoshe has vowed never to leave the opposition Peoples Democratic (PDP) despite its serious challenges which if nothing is done will end up leaving it a carcass.
Fayoshe made this blunt declaration in the course of his visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos yesterday.

While he revealed his visit to be personal, he also claimed to have seized the medium to further encourage him to continue to do what he is doing for Nigerians.
“No one is saying it is easy but there is no miracle that can turn things around overnight. For what the president has done, we must commend him. I was one time critic of the last administration. But you cannot compare the situation. For me, I came to visit, to encourage him to do more for Nigerians.”
“Even while I was in office, I was under his leadership and I did not hide my support for him even when he became the president and the only thing we can do as leaders of this country is to continue to encourage him, lift up his hands and make the public know what it means to lead. An economy that is down but is now being stabilized.”
“There is no miracle. Stabilizing the economy, currency and few courageous steps the president has taken put hope in tomorrow for all of us.”
He however clarified his position on the gale of defections that had rocked the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he said:
“Let me clear this. Myself, Ayo Fayoshe will never move to any political party, not even APC. I am currently 65 years. It is within the right and choice of those defecting to move. Some said they saw what the president is doing, some said the party is in trouble and without doubt, the PDP is in trouble. That’s the gospel truth. If immediate steps are not taken, the party in itself will become carcass. I am not in the frontline anymore, the little contribution I can make, I will make. I was the hotbed when I was the governor of Ekiti State. I cant speak for the people moving but if nothing is done, the party will become carcass. I will never leave PDP, the moment I stop being in PDP, I will rather leave party politics.”
