
It is somber and lugubrious moment in the ancient town of Oba-Ile in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State as the Oloba Oodaye of Oba-Ile, Oba Joseph Oluwadare Agunbiade, the traditional ruler of the kingdom has passed away.
The monarch who joined his ancestors on Friday morning spent 38 years on the throne of his forebears.

Although no official communication has been made to the public yet, in deference to the dictates of Yoruba tradition, palace officials however confirmed the incident.
As part of the traditional rites of passage for the late king, shops have been directed to close temporarily and the people instructed to conduct themselves soberly while the necessary propitiations are made.
