A socio-political group, Akoko North West Youths Forum, has tackled the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State, Kayode Ajulo SAN, over what it described as the humiliation and dismissive treatment of Akoko Youth Forum (AYF) representatives upon their visit and appeal to his office to make financial subscription towards their upcoming programme.

The group, in a statement signed by its president, Chief Alabi Olabode, expressed disappointment at the inhuman treatment and stereotype of the socio-political group, Akoko Youth Forum (AYF), as a fraudulent organisation by the Attorney-General.

The group alleged the AG of having been hounding its president, Engr. Blessing Akeju, with the DSS over false accusations

The statement titled: “Akoko North West Youths Forum Condemns Intimidation of Akoko Youth Forum President, Engr. Blessing Akeju, by Attorney General Kayode Ajulo, SAN,” reads:

“Our attention has been drawn to the unfortunate treatment of the Akoko Youth Forum (AYF) representatives by the Attorney General of the state, Mr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN. As part of preparations for the upcoming Akoko Youth Summit, AYF representatives have engaged with esteemed personalities of Akoko origin and beyond to seek their support. However, Mr. Kayode Ajulo not only refused to engage with them but also allegedly humiliated and dismissed them from his office with derogatory remarks.”

“More disturbingly, reports indicate that Mr. Ajulo labeled the AYF a fraudulent organization and allegedly orchestrated the invitation of its president, Engr. Blessing Akeju, by the Department of State Services (DSS). The confirmation of this summons raises serious concerns about abuse of power and the unjust oppression of young leaders advocating for development.”

“If Mr. Ajulo, as a son of Akoko, chooses to treat his own people with such disregard, one must question his sensitivity to the transient nature of power and leadership. History and posterity will not be kind to actions driven by arrogance and intimidation.”

    “We, therefore, demand that:

    1. Engr. Blessing Akeju must not be harassed or intimidated by the DSS.

    2. Mr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN, issues a public apology for his unjust actions and reconsiders his approach towards youth engagement.

We stand resolute in defending justice and fairness. In an unjust society, silence is complicity.”
