A viciously violent mob in Edo State has committed more than ten people to burning fire after accusing them of being kidnappers.
The incident took place in Uromi, where the victims who were reportedly hunters were stopped for a routine search by local vigilantes while travelling from Rivers State to Kano.

In the course of the search, weapons including guns and machetes were discovered, as well as a dog and other personal belongings. Residents who suspected them to be kidnappers, raised alarm about the situation, thereby leading to a brutal attack.
The mob overpowered the suspects, setting them on fire before security operatives could intervene.
By the time authorities arrived, all the victims had been burned beyond recognition. The bodies have since been evacuated, and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
In the meantime, the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has condemned the incident and ordered a full investigation to arrest the perpetrators.
