After much pressures and exertions, the Ondo State Government has finally awarded the contract for the construction of the third phase of the Igbokoda/Ugbonla/Ayetoro road in the Ilaje Local Government Area of the State.
The 4.27 kilometer road will be funded under the aegis of the Ondo State Oil-Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC)

This was contained in a press statement relayed by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Strategic Communication, Allen Sowore, on Saturday.
The statement reads, “The Ondo State Government, through the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), has commenced preparations for the construction of the 4.72km third phase of the Igbokoda/Ugbo-Nla/Aiyetoro Road project.
“The third phase is a crucial road that will connect Ugbo-Nla to Aiyetoro and other major seaside communities.
“To this end, the administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has awarded the contract for the feasibility study, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Soil Test, and Geophysics Survey to reputable consultants. One of the contractors, EMINAD NIG LTD, has already mobilized to the site.
“The soil test will provide essential data about the terrain to ensure an appropriate design for the topography. It will also determine the required length of the bridge needed to cross the river between Ugbo-Nla and Erunona.”
The construction of this important road network was envisioned by the administration of Late Governor Adebayo Adefarati in 2000 and later executed by the administration of Late Governor Olusegun Agagu.
This third phase, when completed, is poised to connect many of the Ilaje coastal communities by roads and as well link the seaside communities to the major towns. It will also amplify the tourism fortunes of Ondo State.
