Citizen Rapporteur, a multi-faceted news outfit will be hosting Dr. Abbas Olubansile Mimiko, the governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party in the upcoming Ondo gubernatorial election on the 5th day of October, 2024.

The virtual engagement with the governorship candidate and junior brother to the former governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, is coming in the light of the imminence of the governorship election in the State and the need to explore into his various agendas while also looking into the various expectations of the youth ahead of the coming dispensation. While the virtual engagement will entertain citizens of Ondo State, it will be a platform for questions and answers.

Dr. Abbas Olubansile Mimiko is Board certified in Psychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He obtained his MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery Degrees) at the University of Lagos in 1987.

While at College of Medicine, University of Lagos, he was at one time Chairman, Student Representative Council and Secretary of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria.

He did his Medical Specialty Training in Psychiatry at the ivy league Columbia University Programme at Harlem Hospital Centre, New York, NY, USA between 1996 to 2001. He was Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University, Chief of the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Programme and Deputy Director, Psychiatric Residential Training Programme at Harlem Hospital Centre, New York, USA.

Dr. Olubansile is a published author in both the fictional and non-fictional genre. Among his works is "His Intimate Voices (a novel on HIV) and "To Live With Happiness (an Eyewitness account on Electoral Fraud in Nigeria).

Despite his graceful accomplishments in the medical profession, he is not distracted from public service and leadership. He is the gubernatorial candidate of the Zenith Labour Party in the coming Ondo Governorship election.
