Ondo State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Kayode Ajulo, SAN, has welcomed with great elation the recent approval of an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) University in Ikare-Akoko, the headquarters of Akoko Northeast Local Government Area of the Sunshine State.
Expressing his gratitude vide a statement he personally signed and issued on Wednesday, Ajulo described the siting of such modern university in Akokoland as historic, saying that the citadel of learning will not only enhance regional digital literacy but will also promote national technological development.

While applauding Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for providing the enabling environment that is receptive for the proposed ivory tower, Ajulo also thanked the senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Jide Ipinsagba, for initiating the bill and pushing it through.
“This is a landmark achievement that holds transformative potential for our people, especially the youth. The university, when established, will be the first of its kind in this region, dedicated entirely to cutting-edge information technology, software development, and digital research. I salute Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s visionary leadership and express gratitude to Senator Ipinsagba for his unwavering dedication to the cause,” the statement read.
Ajulo further urged President Bola Tinubu to speedily give his assent to the bill establishing the university, noting that the academic institution holds a lot of prospects for Ondo State, Nigeria and Africa.
“This is not just an academic institution, it is a strategic investment in Nigeria’s digital future. We urge Mr President to give his assent without delay,” he added.
Ultimately, Dr Ajulo, SAN, extended his appreciation to all traditional rulers, community leaders and stakeholders in the Akoko sub-region for coming together to speak with one voice in their demand for the ICT University, hinting that their unity of purpose has earned them the great feat.
