Fresh details have emerged on the circumstances leading to the murder of a Secondary School student in Gbagi, Egbeda Local Government Area of Ibadan, Oyo State, by a Trigger-happy Policeman.

The emerging details further clarified that the shoot out leading to the death of the victim happened at the Aba Ode Area of Alakia, Gbagi, in the Egbeda Local Government Area of the State. The father of the murdered student reportedly broke traffic rules by attempting to ply a one-way. He was trying to escape arrest when his vehicle was shot at by an angry operative of the Nigeria Police who was operating in a team.

The bullet was said to have penetrated one of the students from behind the vehicle, thereby leading to his immediate rush to Welfare Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Owing to the critical state of the student, the hospital could barely stabilise him until he was rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.

The death of the young lad had sparked a mass protest which has now extended to the State’s Secretariat. As at news time, it was confirmed that the guilty men of the Nigeria Police who fired the shots have stolen out amidst the crowd struggling to rescue the child.

However, a group of irrate youth took a step further by conveying the dead, pale body to the State’s Secretariat. This is with the intention of making a statement with the governor.

As at news time, the body is said to have been deposited at the Adeoyo morgue.
