
The Edo State Police Command has arrested the recently dethroned traditional ruler of Okhoromi in Edo State, Ovbokhan Igbinovia Kelvin, the Ohen of Okhoromi alongside four members of his syndicate after finding a human skull and varying degrees of arms and ammunitions with him.
This development was contained in a public statement signed and issued on Saturday, 17th May 2025 by the Edo State Police Command Spokesperson, CSP Moses Joel Iyamu.

The statement read, “The Edo State Police Command in a sting operation carried out by operatives of the Command Intelligence and Rapid Response Squad alongside the Anti-kidnapping Squad today 17/05/2025 arrested the recently dethroned Ohen of Okhoromi, one Ovbokhan Igbinovia Kelvin, 43 years; Osarodion Omoregie, 41 years; Charles Otasowei, 55 years; Edwin Igbinovia, 45 years and Osagie Igbinovia, 44 years.”
“The following exhibits: two (2) AK 47 rifles with breach numbers TH4782 and 6683 respectively, two (2) single barrel locally made shotguns, three (3) empty AK 47 magazines, one (1) OFM magazine, eleven (11) rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and a suspected human skull were recovered from the premises of Ovbokhan Igbinovia Kelvin, the dethroned Ohen of Okhoromi when search was conducted.”
“Investigation is ongoing to recover other arms and ammunitions in his possession and arrest his fleeing gang members.”
The Police spokesperson further assured residents to go about their normal businesses without fear or trepidation, as the Police is on its toes to pin down other criminals in the length and breadth of the State.
“CP Monday Agbonika fdc assures the general public that the command would not be deterred or distracted in its resolve to rid the state of all forms of crimes and criminality,” the statement ended.
