The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) is poised to challenge the status quo as it has officially announced firy South African liberation Speaker and President of the Economic Freedom Fighters, Julius Malema, as the keynote speaker ahead of its 2025 Annual General Conference.
The NBA AGC is billed to take place from August 22 to August 29, 2025. The event will be exploring the theme, “Stand Out, Stand Tall.”

Julius Malema is a prominent figure in South African politics, known for his fearless stance on economic freedom and social justice.
NBA is inviting Malema at a very critical time in Nigeria’s political history.
As the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters, Malema has consistently pushed for systemic change, making him a fitting choice to inspire legal professionals and leaders at the NBA conference.
His impactful speeches on governance, leadership, and the fight for economic equity resonate well beyond South Africa, positioning him as a global advocate for reform.
The 2025 NBA Annual General Conference looks like an enriching event for legal professionals, with Malema’s keynote address expected to provide valuable insights on leadership and advocacy in challenging political and economic landscapes.
Afam Osigwe-led NBA, says in an excerpt from its statement: “We invite all legal practitioners to join us at this landmark event and be part of a transformative experience. Secure your spot today and get ready for a conference that promises to empower and inspire the legal community.”
Meanwhile, the relocation of the conference from Rivers State might be quite symbolic as Julius Malema will not be comfortable speaking in a State already conquered by the military.
