
A newly appointed Professor of Law at the Adekunle Ajasin University, Olugbenga Oke-Samuel, has made an emergency declaration against illiteracy in the Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The academic, in a statement released on Tuesday morning to express his utmost gratitude to the community for celebrating his merited appointment as Professor of Law, hinted that no Idanre indigene will have reasons to drop out of school owing to paucity of funds any longer as a dedicated Idanre Indigent Students Fund is out to combat illiteracy.

In his words: “I write to sincerely appreciate you all for the display of love, unity and wealth on Saturday 19th April, 2025, on the occasion of the reception and award ceremony to mark my promotion and appointment as a Professor of Law by the Council of Adekunle Ajasin University.”

“While it is gratifying for me as the main beneficiary of this great event, it is more fulfilling to note that the occasion has given birth to a major intervention towards ensuring that not youth from Idanre drops out of higher institution as a result of lack of funds. The occasion gave birth to the establishment of Idanre Indigent Students Fund with a take-off sum of Eight Million Naira. The amount being part of what was realised from your donations towards the reception in my honour.”
“I am indebted to the entire kingdom for this great honour, it is for me a call to service and an encouragement to continue to pursue the development of our kingdom in collaboration with others.”
